GoldMine 6.5 has been designed to meet several major goals for our users. Based on input from customers and partners, the first objective was to continue to make GoldMine easier to install, deploy and adopt for all users - from novices to seasoned administrators. This objective is especially relevant to entice existing contact management users of ACT!® and Outlook® looking to upgrade to a more business-focused, team-based solution.
The second objective for this release was to extend GoldMine's suitability and flexibility to better address the customer tracking and collaboration needs of existing and new users.
MAKING GOLDMINE EASIER TO USE
During installation, GoldMine 6.5 now automatically detects the presence of ACT!, Excel, and Outlook and prompts user to convert their existing contact data. GoldMine 6.5 makes switching faster, simpler and more seamless than ever!
For new and existing users, the simpler, more intuitive Reports Centre offers users a re-designed tool for accessing and managing GoldMine's reports. In addition, for those times when users just want to run a report without any changes, GoldMine 6.5 now offers a shortcut for quicker report printing.
GoldSync 6.5 customers will enjoy both the new 'Instant Sync' option -- for remote users who log back onto the network to synchronize - and the new Native Windows Service1 support for automated synchronization processing that leverages existing server technologies. Administrators and remote users now have less to do to stay up-to-date on key contact and calendar information with GoldMine 6.5.
GoldMine 6.5 delivers a more interactive experience for users through a variety of HTML-based 'Alerts' that detect user-initiated or background actions and provide helpful notifications, suggested actions, or status updates. Users can even get context-sensitive Help, on-demand by optionally clicking the 'More Info' links jump to content on the Web and/or in the online documentation.

• Advanced Palm PDA Integration - Our advanced Palm PDA integration includes security enhancements, pending activity filtering and support for the latest Palm based devices.
Increased Security : Take greater control over who can make changes to your GoldMine database via the Palm such as contact updates and deletions. And with a centralize Palm synchronization profile manager you can prevent unwanted user modifications.
Activity Filtering: Optimize your Palm calendar for use while away from the office by choosing which GoldMine activities to synchronize to your Palm device.
New Device Support: The PDA integration supports all Palm OS based devices using Palm OS version 5.0 and higher - including traditional PDA devices and Palm OS Smartphones.
• Enhanced Record Typing - With Enhanced Record Typing you now get simplified and faster searching by record type, enforcement of field auto-populate rules and data entry uniformity.
• Query By Example : Querying your GoldMine data is now easier than ever and you don't need to be an expert to capture it. With Query by Example you can easily create and use SQL queries to generate contact lists based on pending, historical and other information. Keep your GoldMine up to date with UPP (Upgrade Protection Plan):
Q: What is UPP?
A: UPP stands for Upgrade Protection Plan. It is an ANNUAL subscription plan exclusively for users of GoldMine. As a subscriber you will always receive the latest new version or upgrade of GoldMine, completely free of further charge. All upgrades are obtained by download from the internet.
Q: I have an older version of GoldMine, does this matter?
A: Yes, The price is different. Older versions pay more when first purchasing UPP. When you renew you pay the lower renewal price.
Q: How many subscriptions do I need?
A: You will need to purchase UPP for each GoldMine/GoldSync licence you own. You can check how many GoldMine licences are registered on your system by looking in the GoldMine licence manager where you will be able to see the number of GoldMine/GoldSync Users registered on your system.
Q: So if I have 10 GoldMine and 5 GoldSync licenses I need 15 UPP subscriptions?
A: Yes, after you click on the "Buy Now" button below, you must enter the total number of GoldMine/Goldsync licenses you have, into the quantity box. Remember if you buy less UPP's that GoldMine/GoldSync licences you will NOT be able to download any new versions.
Q: How do I activate my UPP?
A: Shortly after you have received your invoice for your UPP purchase you will receive an email with your UPP activation instructions together with your password and access code.
